Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA-43), Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee, issued the following statement today on the thirteenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001:

"It has been thirteen years to the day since an unfathomable act of violence took the lives of nearly 3,000 innocent Americans. Every year, we honor the thousands lost in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, though we remember them every day.

Congresswoman Waters Applauds Passage of Veterans' Health Bill

Washington, DC– Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) voted in favor of the Conference Report for the Veterans Access, Choice & Accountability Act of 2014 (H.R. 3230), which passed the House of Representatives by an overwhelming, bipartisan vote of 420 to 5.

Following the United States Senate's passage of legislation to extend the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act for seven years, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), Ranking Member of the Financial Services Committee, praised the chamber's action, and its strong bipartisan vote of 93-4. Over the past several weeks, Waters has been engaged in productive discussions with Democrats, Republicans and President Obama on the importance of renewing the program.
