Congresswoman Waters Applauds Passage of Veterans' Health Bill
Washington, DC– Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) voted in favor of the Conference Report for the Veterans Access, Choice & Accountability Act of 2014 (H.R. 3230), which passed the House of Representatives by an overwhelming, bipartisan vote of 420 to 5.
She released the following statement:
As the House of Representatives considers the harmful Republican financial services and general government funding proposal, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), Ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee, offered three amendments designed to provide adequate resources to our financial regulators.
"I was devastated yesterday when I learned of the tragic destruction of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over the Ukraine. I condemn this senseless act of violence, and I hope that the individuals responsible for shooting down this plane are swiftly brought to justice.
