Rep. Waters Attends Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Service Center Opening in Inglewood

LOS ANGELES – Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA-43) joined the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles at the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for their new Service Center in Inglewood on February 24. The center and the adjacent Inglewood Innovation Center will serve nearly 15,000 girls from Inglewood and surrounding communities

"Girl Scouts is a tremendous organization, which instills the type of courage, confidence, and character young girls need to thrive and to become successful leaders and public servants," said Congresswoman Maxine Waters. "I am so pleased that we will now have a new Girl Scouts facility here in Inglewood that will allow more young girls to participate in the life-changing training, workshops, and events that Girl Scout provides within our community. I will continue to do all that I can to support and provide resources and opportunities for more young girls from all backgrounds to become Girl Scouts."

Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles serves more than 46,000 girls in partnership with 25,000 adult members and volunteers throughout the communities of Los Angeles County and parts of Kern, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties. Through its large-scale events and experiences, Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles works to advance its mission of building "girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place."
